BUSTED!! January?

I'm a little behind on the that means we are about to get Chanukah and January! You might remember back at Chanukah time that we were very busy for all 8 nights. Aunt Wendy and Grandma Lina were in town and we were running all over for Reilly's performances and for both girls' parties. Well as part of that, here is a short video with clips from the two performances Reilly did with her class. One was at a festival in Winter Park, the other was at her school for the parents.

Sleeping and Snuggling

The other night I walked into the girls' room to check on them before bed and I found Reilly snuggling with a picture of her and Brooke. I didn't know she had pulled the picture off her bulletin board, it was adorable!

Moo, Baa & No, No, No

Tonight we hit a milestone. There are a couple times in my life (thus far) as a parent, where I felt one of my girls really turned a corner. Tonight was one of those moments. I sat down to read books with Brooke...normally this is me just reading 3 or 4 boks while she is restless and trying to grab other books off the shelf. Tonight we read "Moo, Baa, La, La, La" and she was really into it. I said "A cow says..." and Brooke responded "moooo." She did the same thing for sheep...and then she followed that page by wagging her finger and saying "no, no, no" which is the next line and how I always do it. She then made me read those pages over and over again.

I know, this sounds silly - but I felt like we had one of those milestone moments where our conversations are no longer just one way. I laughed so hard when she did the no, no, no that she couldn't stop laughing too.

Winter Wonderland

We have been having a great Florida winter this year. In the midst of some fabulous and mild weather we have been sledding and ice skating. Reilly has been having a blast doing it and Brooke watching. Reilly actually did better than expected on the ice skates. She didn't go fast, but she certainly did great keeping her balance and being brave out on the ice!
