Walk, Baby, Walk

When Mike picked Brooke up from school tonight she took 4 steps to him!!! Unfortunately we weren't able to recreate it, but that is a start!!

Yes, I still owe several updates to the blog - but we are getting through a week of Reilly having confirmed Swine Flu, Mike having unconfirmed Swine Flu, and me having the seasonal flu (what a bunch we are!), so hopefully I will get a moment soon to make lots and lots of updates!!

Pumpkin Patch

Every year Mike and I look forward to going to the pumpkin patch, even back before we had kids. I think that excitement gets to be more and more though as the kids get older and share in the excitement. Reilly has been asking to go since the "patch" got set up a couple weeks ago. We decided we would go when Grandpa Sweeney was here. Since we have been going to this patch since Reilly was born, we are able to get some great pictures.

Brooke's Growing

I've taken a lot of video of Brooke over the last couple of weeks because it seems like every day she is doing something new. She now waves bye-bye, blows kisses, throws balls, says Uh-oh, mama, dada, and baba. She is also laughing more and more each day and LOVES playing with Reilly. So this video gives a nice little sample of all these things!

Brooke and Layla

The two "Littles" as Jaime and I call them - are starting to learn they are best friends ;-) The other day, we watched them interact and play with each other on this rocker!

11 Months Old

Brooke is in her last month of being a baby - she has hit 11 months. And wow - we have been busy. I have several blog posts to get up (hopefully tonight or tomorrow).

At 11 months, Brooke has 8 teeth (at least that we can see) - she appears to be teething, so we'll see if another comes through soon. She has started saying her first words. She says Mama. This started one day when she wasn't feeling good. I swore she was saying mama, but we weren't sure. A couple days later we realized she was saying it! She also says baba (bottle) and ba (ball)...and we think dada.

She is crawling and cruising - and we are excited to see when the walking will start. She adores Reilly and shines whenever she walks in the room. At school, we are told that she gets sad when somebody asks where Reilly is. She has a lot of personality and laughs ALL THE TIME.

Brooke's 10 Month Birthday

Brooke is 10 months old today and is very curious and mobile! I thought I would show some of that by posting a couple outtakes from her photo shoot this morning where she was trying to get away ;-)

For Brooke's 9 month old photo shoot with Amanda, we went to the beach!

Despite being hot and Brooke wanting to eat all the sand - she took some amazing pictures! The Golds joined us as well for some cute kid pictures. Here is a sampling of the great shots.

Brookie's Back!

Brooke was feeling MUCH better today - after being sick for 5 days! So, off to her new classroom she went. Her and Reilly, of course, wore matching outfits and posed for some cute picture!

First Shoes

As you know, Brooke is crawling. But she seems less interested in crawling for the sake of crawling, than she is to crawl somewhere and pull herself up. Reilly was happy to crawl and crawl for months, so this is different for me.

Because of that, we decided to go buy Brooke her first pair of shoes.

Look Who's Crawling

As if on queue, Brooke started crawling on Wednesday - the day after her 9 month birthday. This weekend she was all over the place. Here is a short video!

Reilly got bored playing dress up by herself, so she started dressing Brooke up - and she was a sport!

Camp Photos

Reilly and Brooke are both having a blast at camp this year. Reilly LOVES swimming every day (OKAY, DID love swimming, but can't swim for a couple more days with the nose!) and the change of routine.

4th of July in Denver

We just had a fabulous weekend in Denver - I really love that city!! We were there to celebrate Brock's Bar Mitzvah and had a great time! Mike got to see old friends and Reilly made new ones. Actually, she made more than friends -- she made an impression. During the party, Reilly and her friend Zoe were having a great time. Reilly being the inquisitive child that she is, apparently wondered what the red button on the wall was, and pushed it. Yep, thats right - the fire alarm.

The entire country club was evacuated for about 10 minutes and the party was escorted outside until all was cleared. It was embarrassing, but one of those moments you'll never forget. Here she is posing for the photographer after we were let back inside. This was the alarm in question ;-)
